Here is the complete collection of 34 Asterix albums published so far. These Asterix albums are about the fun-filled adventures taking place in the time of Gaul and the rule of Caesar, starring Asterix and his best friend Obelix. Most of the adventures take plance in the village of Gaul or around it, but the characters also travel to far away lands like Belgium, Spain, Britain, Germany, North America, Middle East and India etc.
One interesting fact to note is that Uderzo's initial sketches portrayed Asterix as huge, Gaulish warrior, but Goscinny had other ideas about Asterix. He was eventually portrayed as the shrewd small sized warrior, who had intelligence as a weapon over the muscle strength. Asterix is joined by his friend Obelix, who is strong, but not as sharp as Asterix. The duo whose name end with 'ix' like the old Gaulish chieftains of yore, take us on a hilarious and adventurous expeditions against the Romans.
The Romans, time and again, are outwitted by the Gauls, who fight their wars with wits and with the magic potion brewed by them. The magic potion, brewed by Getafix, imparts the superhuman strength to its takers. The tiny village is the last village in Gaul to resist Roman rule. No matter what the Romans try, they end up getting beaten at their own game by the shrewd and cunning little warriors. Join Asterix, Obelix, and company in these fun filled series of comics.
