Acharya Swami Pranavananda is regarded as ?Yugavatar?, a divine incarnation ushering in a new era. He was born at a time (1896) when India was reeling under the oppressive rule of the British. The people had lost their sense of direction and were devoid of self-confidence. Pranavananda turned youngsters into a well-organized unit by instilling in them courage, strength and a cooperative approach to face the adversities that were prevailing at that time.
The period between the later half of the 19th century and the beginning of the present century is known as the golden age of India?s resurgence. Many national leaders of the period acknowledged that Pranavananda was making their task of nation-building much easier. He formed the Bharat Sevashram Sangha which has been till today carrying out his mission and has been helping humanity in various ways.
Swami Pranavananda combined spirituality with disciplined physical training. As a part of the celebration of his birth centenary the life-story of this great saint is being made known to children.
